Pepper o Robot

Durante a minha estadia no Japão deparei-me com o "Pepper", por duas vezes este "robozito" atravessou o nosso caminho enquanto passávamos por perto de sucursais do SoftBank.

O Pepper é um robot humanóide que foi criado pela Aldebaran Robotics e pelo SoftBank, foi projetado com a capacidade de ler emoções e analisar expressões e tons de voz. 

O Pepper não é propriamente um robot funcional para uso doméstico. Em vez disso, os criadores pretendem que o objectivo seja para "fazer as pessoas felizes",

Mas... curiosamente este robozinho demonstrou ter um pouquinho mais que a habilidade de ler emoções, ou talvez seja capaz de as ler demasiado. Depois de termos indagado o robot um par de vezes e confesso de termos até "gozado" um pouquinho (ok, confesso talvez demasiado), com o pobre, este "deu a volta por cima" quando nos pergunta se queríamos saber a nossa sorte para o dia, naturalmente dissemos que sim e o "sacaninha" responde... "a sorte para hoje é a pior"... olhamos um para outro atónitos e desatamos a rir, quer tenha sido propositado ou um mero acaso (com um timing perfeito) a verdade é que foi deveras divertido encontrar este baixote.

No site da SoftBank eles descrevem-no como sendo "um robô gentil, agradável e surpreendente", lá surpreendente isso ele é mesmo e testamos em primeira mão, com algumas gargalhadas pelo meio e até alguma surpresa. (https://www.ald.softbankrobotics.com/en/cool-robots/pepper)

Se passarem por perto de um "Pepper" metam-se com ele e estejam preparados para uma boa surpresa.

During my stay in Japan I came across twice with the robot "Pepper" as we passed near to the SoftBank's branches.

Pepper is a humanoid robot that was created by Aldebaran Robotics and the SoftBank, was designed with the ability to read emotions and analyze expressions and tones of voice.

Pepper is not exactly a functional robot for home use. Instead, the creators claim that the aim is to "make people happy"

But... interestingly this little robot shown have a little more than the ability to read emotions, or maybe he was able to read them too well. After we asked the robot a couple of questions and I confess that we "nag" him a little (ok, I admit perhaps too much), This little one "turned the game" when we asked whether we wanted to know our fortune of the day, of course we said yes and the "little rascal" responds... "the fortune today is the worst"... dumbfounded we looked at each other and burst out laughing, whether it was deliberate or a mere chance (with a perfect timing) the truth is that it was truly fun to find out this little guy.

In the SoftBank website they describe it as "a gentle, pleasant and surprising robot," well he is surprising that is for sure and we have tested it in first hand, with a few laughs in the middle and even with some surprise. (https://www.ald.softbankrobotics.com/en/cool-robots/pepper)

Surpresas e Lugares Únicos | Surprises and Unique Places

PT: Existem lugares que nos cativam, quer pela sua originalidade, quer por serem únicos e tão diferentes daquilo ao que estamos habituados no nosso comum dia a dia.

Tóquio, é um lugar desses, onde o peculiar se mistura e até se confunde com o mundano dia de trabalho de qualquer Capital no Mundo... mas em modo fast forward!

N3331 - Um cafezinho longe de casa.

Tóquio é sem duvidas uma incrível metrópole que não dorme, ou dorme quase nada, onde novos e velhos andam pelas ruas atarefados, independentemente da hora do dia, sempre a correr, sempre a cumprir horários à risca, os naturais de Tóquio (e aqueles que lá vivem) parecem por vezes, (àqueles que são forasteiros), como que autómatos, máquinas cibernéticas com o objectivo concreto e matemático de se deslocarem de A para B... rapidamente, eficazmente, e acima de tudo sem erros.

No meio deste mundo de luz, cores e muita azafama, existe sempre lugares onde tanto o turista, como o residente pode fugir à loucura e procurar relaxar, para mais tarde voltar a mergulhar no turbilhão infindável que é a cidade de Tóquio. 

Em Tóquio existem milhares de cafés, muitos deles temáticos, sejam eles os mais famosos "maids café"... (os quais não aprecio muito) ou aquele lugarzinho aconchegante onde podemos coçar a cabecinha de um felino sortudo!

No meio de todos este cafés encontrei um favorito, cujo o tema é o transporte favorito de muitos de nós... o comboio!

N3331 - Incrível e único. 

A velha plataforma da estação de Manseibashi foi adaptada para um café único, onde podemos disfrutar de um momento relaxante. Bem no coração de Tóquio, e ao mesmo tempo apreciar um café, ou uma refeição completa, enquanto vemos os comboios passar ao nosso lado, num vai vem constante, mas até confortante. (tudo isto bem pertinho da famosa Akihabara, que todo o amante de animé e tecnologia quer e deve visitar)

Este café peculiar é o N3331 ("en san san san ichi") um lugar original, mas que aconselho a visitar fora das horas de grande afluência, pois poderão ter um limite de tempo para estar dentro do café, tendo em conta que poderá existir bastantes clientes a quererem ter um lugar sentados. 

No nosso caso foi numa altura bem calminha, onde podemos relaxar e conversar calmamente sem stress, enquanto falávamos víamos os restantes clientes a entrar e a sair, a rir e a divertirem-se, como em qualquer parte do mundo onde um grupo de amigos se juntam depois de mais um dia de trabalho.

N3331 - da nossa mesa para o Mundo.

EN: There are places that captivate us, either by their originality or because they are unique and so different from what we are used to in our ordinary day to day life.

Tokyo is such a place, where the peculiar blends and even mingles with the mundane workday of any capital in the world ... but in a fast forward mode!

Tokyo is without a doubt an amazing metropolis that sleeps little or nothing at all, where young and old walk up and down the busy streets, regardless of the time of the day, always running, always ready to meet schedules, the tokyoites (and those who live there) seem sometimes (to those who are outsiders) as they were like automata, cybernetic machines with the specific objective and mathematical precision of moving from A to B... quickly, effectively, and above all without error.

In the midst of this world of colors, light and much bustle there is always places where both the tourists and the resident can escape the madness and seek relaxation to return later to the plunge of the endless vortex that is the city of Tokyo.

In Tokyo, there are thousands of cafes, many of them themed, the most famous "maids coffee"... (which I do not appreciate that much) or better that cozy little place where we can scratch the tiny head of a lucky cat!

In the midst of all these cafes, we found a favorite, whose theme is the favorite transportation for many of us... the train!

The old platform of the Manseibashi station that was adapted to a cafe, where we can enjoy a relaxing time. Right in the heart of Tokyo, and at the same time enjoy a coffee or a full meal, while we watch the trains pass next to us, a will is constant but so comforting. (All this very close to the famous Akihabara, the whole animé lover, and technology and want to visit)

This coffee is N3331 ("en san san san ichi") a unique place, but I advise to visit outside the hours of major affluence, they may have a time limit to stay inside the cafe, taking into account that there may be several customers wanting to have a sitting place.

In our case it was a calm time where we could relax and talk calmly without any stress, as we talked we saw the other customers coming in and out, to laugh and have fun, as anywhere in the world where a group of friends gathers together after another day of work.
