EN: When
I left Munich on April 6, 2016, I had my first experience with one of
the largest Japanese airlines the "All Nippon Airways" (or for short,
"ANA"), with which I made my first long trip and experienced the good and the least good of getting "hooded" inside a metal tube for ten hours in a row.
But before talking about my simple personal experience, I leave here a brief summary of the history of this company, whose fleet has currently more than 190 aircrafts: ANA began working after the World War II in 1952, with the aim of recovering the air traffic that had been disrupted during the world conflict years earlier. At that time the name of the company was "Japan Helicopter & Airplane Transports Co" in the beginning the traffic was only carried out by helicopters, it was only in the year of 1957 that they begin to make connections with airplanes and the company starts to be known by the name that still carries nowadays, "All Nippon Airways". But it is only in the 1970s, rather in 1971 that the company started to make international, (though not regular), connections between Tokyo and Hong Kong.It is in the year 1994 that ANA starts its international operations at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, and it is finally in the year of 1999 that the company joins the Star Alliance.

Personally speaking, I
found a very professional company, from the moment we are received and pass the boarding gate to the cabin attendants, the Japanese
friendliness and it's cordiality is there embed in all details, thus
I had the opportunity to begin to enjoy the Japanese culture and way of being still miles away from the islands of the Rising Sun.
At ANA there is a notorious comfort and concern for its passengers, from the refreshing offer of green tea, to the crispy rice snacks, which in part minimize the stress of a long journey, especially for those who are not at all accustomed to these wanderings. All this without counting naturally with all the offer of natural drinks and for the most "witty" the alcoholic beverages they can fully enjoy.

After the (not so
comfortable) experience aboard the Lufthansa plane, I can say that it
was a kind of fresh air breeze and greatly minimized the fact that I had
traveled tighten in a crowded plane where I could hardly move my legs. For
the "sake of our sins" they had served a kind of pasta-with-peppers-with-cheese-on-horse from which I doubted its true
origin... Regrettably, this was my first impression of Lufthansa. And
I'm not being naughty or even wanting to give the German company a bad
name (far from my idea), this company had its golden age in the
past, it was one of the biggest carriers in the world. Maybe
the expense cuts and the low-cost descent sacrificed a few things, but
luckily the crew on board was super-humored, which made me a few
sincere smiles.
The least good,
were undoubtedly the ten long hours on board, where every look at the
hours on the monitors made me want to get out of the cabin and somehow
"push" the device faster! Not to mention the buzzing of the engines... which must be the worst thing on board of an airplane!
The good thing was the comfort, the friendliness, the good meals on board, the friendly conversations with the attendants on board, always smiling and ready to help. (Especially when I almost got locked in the toilet)... eh eh eh...
I hope one day to return to travel with this airline and return to rediscover this experience, or another one, who knows, because everything is not always as planned.
